Register Now for the Farm to Market Connection

Registration is officially open for this year's Farm to Market Connection at the CVI Building in Liberty on Sunday, March 25. Conference registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with Early Bird Sessions starting at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 and includes local foods lunch prepared by Early Bird Cookery and all conference materials.

Why join us? If you're up for a day of networking, education about the most current topics in direct marketing, and a gathering of regional farmers, retailers, restaurateurs, specialty food producers, distributors, farmers’ market staff and economic development practitioners...then you're one for the Farm to Market Connection. It's the perfect way to get the growing season off to the right start!

Confirmed speakers include:

Rob Dougherty, Sullivan County Farms
Sara Grady, Glynwood Center & Hudson Valley Cider Route
Joel Elder, Tuthilltown Spirits
Erin Fairbanks, No Goat Left Behind & Heritage Radio Network
Lissa Harris and Julia Reischel, Watershed Post
Nicole Day, the Center for Agricultural Development and Entrepreneurship
Larry Althiser, Larry's Custom Meats
Dennis Derryck, Corbin Hill Farm

New elements of this year's event include a Food Hub Listening Session and curbside consulting.  During the curbside consulting session, guidance on business and marketing topics will be offered through one-on-one sessions on a dozen topics with regional specialists.

Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress is starting a project to research and develop food distribution infrastructure, such as food hubs, to help farmers bring their products to market.  Input from farmers, wholesale and retail businesses and others along the food value chain will be critical. During the Food Hub listening session, participants will share their challenges in food distribution, infrastructure resources and needs in the region, and opportunities for collaboration or other improvements.

Farm and food businesses are encouraged to renew their Pure Catskills memberships at the event to receive a four-color Pure Catskills metal membership sign. Please bring a separate check for $35 made payable to "Luminary Publishing-Pure Catskills."

To sponsor the event, donate food to the local foods luncheon, or to ask a question, contact Farm to Market Manager Challey Comer at (607) 865-7090, ext. 217. Pre-register online by March 15.
